Whether you’ve been on HomeSwapper for a little while, or you’re fairly new to swapping, you’ll know that using HomeSwapper, you’re able to take a look through other swappers’ adverts and eventually, find your swap.
But what happens after you’ve agreed a mutual exchange?
Once you’ve found your swap, your time on HomeSwapper will have come to an end. Now, both of you involved in the swap will need to begin your application with your landlords – a process that can take up to 42 days! During this period, there may be property inspections, health and safety checks and property reports from your landlord, all finished off when a ‘Deed of Assignment’ is signed by both people involved in the swap. This might sound lengthy and in truth, organising a swap does involve a lot of forms, admin, checks and approvals. This is why we’ve now launched SwapTracker, an add-on service for landlords, that manages this process and keeps everyone involved updated on the progress of a swap.

In SwapTracker, swappers have their own Dashboard, designed to show you all the information you need in one simple screen. It will show you exactly where you are in the swap process; the tasks that have been finished and those that still need to be done, as well as how long is left until the swap is complete.
You’ll also find online forms with a digital signature that really simplify the whole process of putting in your information.
Keeping you updated
When your landlord receives your application, you’ll immediately get a message letting you know that they’ve got it, meaning that you won’t have to get in touch with them to find out what’s happening with the swap.
