Join HomeSwapper
Joining HomeSwapper is simple. We’ll just need a few details from you to get your account setup. To register for HomeSwapper, you’ll need to be a social housing tenant and if your landlord is registered with us and approves your account, then the site will be completely free!
Create your advert
When you first register, you’ll need to answer some questions about your home and the home you want. This creates your home advert and also lets you see homes you might like.
In The home you’ve got section, fill in the details so other swappers can see what they could swap to. This will be your advert.
In The home you want section, enter what you’re looking for to to help HomeSwapper suggest homes you might like.
Don’t worry, you can change any of these details at any time. Your account will need landlord approval, which can take a bit of time. You can find out more about that here.

Find your swap
Find 1000s of homes from all over the UK on your Matches page. Our filtering system has different types of search, so you can look for homes in a way that works for you.
If you don’t know know where to start looking, we suggest homes that match your profile. Each one has a % score for how closely they match!

Set up MultiSwaps
On HomeSwapper you can create MultiSwaps. These are swaps that involve more than 2 homes. The way it works is that a swapper moves into the home of a person who is moving into the home of another person… until the chain is completed. So everyone gets the home they want!

Message other Swappers
You can securely message Swappers using our in-built messenger. Chat in real-time to work out details, request photos and ask any questions about a home.

Arrange a visit
When you’ve found a possible swap, fix a date to visit. Get a feel for the home and the neighbourhood and if it’s right for you.
Think about what’s most important to you and make sure this home ticks those boxes!

Confirm your swap
Once you and the other swapper have agreed you’d like to swap, get in touch with your landlord as soon as you can. If everyone is happy, you can go ahead with the swap!
